Avecina Medical Urgent Care FAQs
Avecina Medical Urgent Care clinics across Jacksonville and North Central Florida will be owned and operated by HCA Healthcare, on April 1, 2026.
Beginning April 1, 2026, Avecina Medical Urgent Care centers in Florida will be part of HCA Healthcare and join the same trusted urgent care network as MD Now® urgent care.
Here are answers to questions you may have about the change.
Is the name changing?
Existing clinics will still operate under the name Avecina Medical Urgent Care.
Why do I see MD Now’s name on the communications I receive and other information on the website?
Avecina locations still operate under their existing name but are now leveraging much of the technology and resources that MD Now uses to better serve our patients.
How are Avecina Medical Urgent Care and MD Now urgent care connected?
Beginning April 1, Avecina Medical will join the urgent care network owned and operated by HCA Healthcare, which also includes MD Now urgent care and CareNow® urgent care. Within this network, you can expect the same convenient, compassionate care you’ve relied on from Avecina – plus expanded access to HCA Florida Healthcare and HCA Healthcare’s resources.
Are all Avecina locations staying open?
All clinics that were open in the following cities as of March 31, 2026, will remain open and ready to care for you: Daytona Beach, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Middleburg, Mount Dora, Ocala, Orange Park, St. Augustine, St. Johns, Summerfield (Villages), and Yulee.
Since Avecina locations are connected to MD Now urgent care, you can expect high-quality healthcare regardless of the location you choose. Find a location near you.
Are you changing your hours?
Not at this time. We will continue operating during the same hours as before the transition.
Are the medical providers and other staff the same?
While you may see some new faces in our clinics, most providers will remain the same.
How do I access my medical records?
If you were seen after March 31, 2026, Avecina now offers the MyHealthONE patient portal to view your health history and lab results. If you would like a copy of your medical records, you must fill out a medical release authorization form. Please visit our website for more information and to access the form.
If you were seen on or before March 31, 2026, you may continue to obtain copies of your medical records at 450 State Road 13 North, Suite 106-302, St. Johns, FL 32259
Can you send my primary care physician information about my clinic visits?
Yes. Please be sure to include your primary physician’s name and contact information.
Are your services changing?
We will continue to offer many of the same urgent care services and occupational medicine services for businesses, from employment screenings to treatment of on-the-job injuries.

Do you still take my insurance?
Although you should check with your insurance provider regarding your specific plan’s coverage, we accept all major forms of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid in most markets, so you can get the care you need.
Can I still check-in online?
Yes. Avecina Medical Urgent Care now offers Web Check-In® so you can wait from anywhere. You can use Web Check-In to save your spot in line or let us know when you’re coming, and we’ll notify you when it’s time for your visit.
How can I know my estimated wait time?
Web Check-In® at Avecina allows you to check in and wait from anywhere and minimize your time in the lobby. We will text you and let you know when to come in based on current wait times.
Can I just walk in?
Of course. Walk-ins are always welcome.
Where to go to pay my bill?
If you have been seen at an Avecina clinic on or before March 31, for billing inquiries, email payment visit aarthur@avecina.com or call (904) 438-1495. For general patient inquiries, email avecina@avecina.com
If you have been seen at an Avecina clinic after March 31, please go to MDNow.com to access online payment or contact the billing department at (844) 422-3627 during regular business hours Monday - Friday.
