MD Now Urgent Care Providing COVID-19 Testing and Treatment During the Same Visit at Select Clinics
West Palm Beach, Florida – May 31, 2022 – MD Now Urgent Care, the largest and fastest-growing urgent care provider in Florida, is proud to announce the implementation of their newest COVID-19 service—rapid antigen testing at all 110+ clinics and treatment at select locations. Until now, urgent care centers have been unable to dispense treatment on-site to patients diagnosed with COVID-19. That stops now.
This new COVID-19 treatment program is provided in conjunction with the Florida Department of Health. A Patient can walk into a participating MD Now location, be evaluated by a licensed and certified healthcare professional (which includes a review of medical history and current medications), and receive a rapid antigen test if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. If the patient tests positive for COVID-19 and is at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, antiviral medications to lessen the effects of COVID-19 can be dispensed that very same day if indicated by the provider. With this new phase in the fight against COVID-19, MD Now will continue to be a leader in bringing high-quality treatment solutions to Florida communities.
Since the start of the pandemic, MD Now has supported more accessible testing and evaluation services for COVID-19 by introducing new service lines, such as PCR testing, Telemedicine, and COVID-19 antibody testing. With the addition of rapid antigen tests, MD Now has the opportunity, at select locations, to start clinically indicated patients on medication right away that could lessen the symptoms of COVID-19. Patients receiving the PCR test are also able to receive a prescription for treatment medication after a positive results test.
For patients that suspect they may have COVID-19 and wish to receive treatment during the same visit:
- Visit any of the participating MD Now clinics. As of press there are 12, but continue to check the MD Now website for updates, as new treatment locations will be added:
- Bird Rd.
- Boynton Beach
- Davie
- Hollywood
- Lake Worth
- North Miami Beach
- Plantation
- Royal Palm Beach
- South Margate
- Tamarac
- West Flagler
- West Palm Beach
- Undergo a rapid antigen test and receive results approximately 15 minutes after the test is administered.
- If results are positive and the patient is eligible, an oral antiviral medication will be prescribed during the same visit to help lessen the effects of COVID-19.
MD Now believes in bringing innovative healthcare solutions to patients and is excited to offer this new program in these 12 clinics on Florida’s east coast as well as rapid antigen testing across all 110+ clinics.
